This month has been the month of surprises and quick-turnarounds, to say the least!
While I’ve been actively auditioning for commercial roles, submitting myself for future opportunities and creating a ton of online content, I discovered that two TV episodes I worked on went live. I always find it interesting to see the completed project, because as an actor, you start with timelines and call-times as well as scenes that are out-of-order. It really opens your eyes to the amount of work that goes into the process when you see everything stitched together into something different.
The episodes that just released were for the TV Shows, 9-1-1 (on Fox) and Buried in the Backyard (on Oxygen). For 9-1-1, I worked background as a witness to a really gruesome scene due to a lottery ticket. And in Buried in the Backyard, I was featured as a police officer that discovers the car of a victim (and played a background role as a CSI agent). There must be something about me and crime scenes I guess.
They were both good learning experiences that I feel very appreciative of. No matter the role or level of engagement, there is always something new to learn and connections to be made. We all have our own creative journeys. All we can do is take on the opportunities that we come across and give them everything we have.
Also, talking about “Creative Journeys”, I just launched a video on IGTV to talk about the importance of “Belonging” when it comes to our work as Creatives. Check it out and share your thoughts in the comments!
